The Health Wagon Plans for 5th Annual Davey’s Back to School Shuffle July 30 at Shelcy Mullins, Sr. Fairgrounds: An Event Unlike Any Other!

(Wise, Va,) – The Health Wagon is thrilled to announce the return of the very popular Davey’s 5th Annual Back-to-School Shuffle, to be held Thursday, July 30 at the Shelcy Mullins, Sr. Fairgrounds from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm. All families must have their children present to attend.

To add to the fun, this year’s event will feature pizza, a live DJ, games and a dance off along with bicycle giveaways. Backpacks, school supplies, clothing and shoes and food boxes and hygiene products will also be given away.

“This is our way of bringing the community together for a joyful day of giving and celebration, to provide for families for the upcoming school year,” said Paula Hill-Collins, who along with The Health Wagon CEO Teresa Tyson and their team, organizes the event in memory of Paula’s late son David Meade. David was the former Development Officer of the Health Wagon. “This event is not like any other back to school event. Each year we set new records for participation and impact,” Collins added.

The event will distribute backpacks filled with essential school supplies to children, ensuring they have the tools needed for academic success. The day will be packed with exciting activities, including the much-anticipated Davey’s Shuffle dance contest.

Bicycles, including children’s bikes, will be awarded to the talented winners. Raffle prizes will add to the excitement, with lucky participants taking home items such as drones, toys, and gift certificates. Participants can shop at Davy’s store which is filled with brand-new clothing!

The success of this event was made possible by the generous contributions and support of our dedicated volunteers, local businesses, and sponsors, including, Anthem Healthkeepers and Natural Resource Service, Inc. and many others! In all, they contributed over thousands of dollars’ worth of items to our community, including:
