One of the highlights of this year’s Move Mountains Medical Mission (M7) was the incredible work taking place inside the Owens & Hill Dental Health Clinic, where more than 45 dental students and faculty from Howard University College of Dentistry joined Health Wagon providers to deliver free dental care to patients from across Southwest Virginia.

The dedication of Howard University’s students and faculty not only helped expand access to care but also provided the next generation of dentists with invaluable experience serving underserved populations. Other regional partners included Appalachian Miles for Smiles and West Virginia Health Right.

Local media coverage also captured the impact of the dental clinic, sharing stories from the patients who had lived with dental pain for years and highlighting why events like M7 remain essential for rural Appalachia.

Over the course of the two-day event, 134 patients received care, with the dental team delivering more than 400 dental services.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Howard University College of Dentistry, our volunteer dental professionals, and every member of the dental team who helped restore smiles and improve lives during this year’s M7.
