Health Wagon is honored to be featured in a recent Cardinal News opinion article, “Coal Dust to Orbit: Appalachia’s Journey into Space,” by Jack Kennedy and Tim Cox. The article explores how Southwest Virginia is embracing innovation and highlights Health Wagon’s early adoption of Starlink satellite technology to improve healthcare access in some of the region’s most remote communities.

The article recognizes the vision of Don Green, Executive Director of the Napoleon Hill Foundation, and author Don Caudill, whose support helped fund Health Wagon’s first mobile Starlink connection. Their belief that satellite broadband could transform rural healthcare helped lay the foundation for new opportunities to connect patients with specialists and advanced telehealth services, regardless of geography.
