Napoleon Hill Foundation Honors Don Green‘s Legacy with $50,000 Gift to the Health Wagon

WISE, Va. — June 30, 2026 — The Napoleon Hill Foundation has announced a $50,000 gift to the Health Wagon in honor of Don Green‘s decades of leadership, philanthropy, and commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families throughout Southwest Virginia.

The contribution recognizes a lifetime dedicated to strengthening the region through education, healthcare, economic development, and community partnerships. Throughout his career, Greenhas worked to connect organizations, inspire philanthropy, and champion initiatives that create lasting opportunities for the people of Appalachia.

Among the organizations closest to Green‘s heart has been the Health Wagon, whose mission of providing quality healthcare to uninsured, underinsured, and medically underserved residents has transformed lives across Southwest Virginia. Over the years, Green has supported the organization’s efforts to expand healthcare access, strengthen community partnerships, and bring innovative medical services to some of the region’s most remote communities.

His advocacy has helped facilitate telehealth initiatives and encouraged philanthropic support for programs serving individuals who face geographic, financial, and transportation barriers to receiving care. Green also played an instrumental role in helping facilitate support for the Health Wagon’s SpaceX Starlink partnership, expanding internet connectivity and telehealth services for elderly and disabled residents throughout rural Appalachia.

“Throughout my life, I have believed that success is measured not simply by what we accomplish for ourselves, but by what we do to improve the lives of others,” said Don Green. “The Health Wagon has faithfully served our region with compassion, dignity, and hope for decades. It has been a privilege to support its mission, and I am deeply honored that the Foundation is making this gift to an organization that continues to change lives every single day.”

Founded in 1980, the Health Wagon is nationally recognized as the oldest mobile free healthcare clinic in the United States. Through mobile clinics, fixed medical facilities, telehealth services, dental care, behavioral health, and specialty clinics, the organization provides essential healthcare to thousands of uninsured and underserved patients throughout rural Appalachia each year.

“We at the Health Wagon extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. Don Green and the Napoleon Hill Foundation for their generous support,” said Dr. Paula Hill-Collins, DNP, FNP-BC, PCPNP-BC, FAANP, Vice President and Clinical Director of the Health Wagon. “This gift is far more than a donationit represents hope, compassion, and a shared commitment to ensuring quality healthcare remains accessible for those who need it most.”

Don Green has been a remarkable advocate for our region and for the people who call it home. His commitment to servant leadership, education, healthcare, and community collaboration has made an immeasurable difference in countless lives,” adds Teresa Owens Tyson, DNP, MSN, FNP-BC, FAANP, President and CEO of The Health Wagon. “We are honored to celebrate Don‘s legacy of service through this extraordinary investment in the health of our communities.”

Green‘s influence has extended well beyond healthcare. A respected business and civic leader, he has devoted decades to advancing educational opportunities throughout Southwest Virginia. As a longtime member of the University of Virginia’s College at Wise Board of Trustees, he has helped strengthen the university’s mission while supporting initiatives that have generated millions of dollars in scholarships and educational opportunities for students across the region.
