Do you want to give back to your community, but did not know how to do it? Being a volunteer is one of the greatest ways to give back. The Health Wagon is always in need of volunteers and today we want to highlight one of the best.

Keith Thomerson was watching the CBS show “60 Minutes” and saw the story about the Health Wagon. The next day Keith called Executive Director, Dr. Teresa Owens Tyson, DNP, MSN, FNP-BC, FAANP, and wanted to know how he could help.

Keith has a varied and wonderful background, from being a teacher, varsity football coach, public speaker, senior technical writer, and trainer just to name a few. He is semi-retired and loves to give back.

The Health Wagon put Keith to work right away. He does research, helps with grants, and whatever is needed. Keith was able to get the Health Wagon an accreditation with the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance. This lets people know the Health Wagon is responsible spending their donated funds.

People should not be afraid of being a volunteer. “Everybody has something to give and there are so many things that you can offer”, says Keith. Donating your time and talent is a great way to meet and help people.

The Health Wagon is always looking for great volunteers like Keith. Whatever you can do will be greatly appreciated by this wonderful organization. So, see how you can help and give them a call you will not be disappointed, because everyone has something to offer.
