The Health Wagon Mourns the Passing of Longtime Friend and EMS Leader, Tommy Dingus

(Wise, Va.) – The Health Wagon is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Tommy Dingus, age 66, a beloved paramedic, educator, and one of the organization’s longest-standing supporters.

Tommy’s service to the Health Wagon began in the early 1990s, when he worked alongside leaders Teresa Gardner Tyson and Sister Bernie Kenny at health fairs across Hurley, Clinchco, Clintwood, and Wise, Va. These weeklong events brought care to thousands of underserved residents, and Tommy was always there—providing emergency preparedness, transporting equipment, assisting with logistics, and most importantly, offering friendship and support.
