We gathered for a deeply moving luncheon and awards ceremony hosted by The Business Journal of Tri-Cities TN/VA, where Sister Bernadette “Bernie” Kenny, MSN, FNP, was honored posthumously with the Healthcare Heroes Award.
Though we lost Sister Bernie in December, her spirit echoes in every clinic, every mobile unit, and every patient who finds hope where it once seemed lost. Her life’s work continues to inspire us to serve where the need is greatest.
We also joined in honoring the life and heroism of Boone McCrary, RN at Greeneville Community Hospital, who gave his life in an attempt to rescue a civilian during the flooding of Hurricane Helene.
